    • 7:30 PM - 10:00 PM MadKo Concerts presents Madko Concerts presents an evening of Philadelphia hip-hop with the finest acts around, including headliner Reef The Lost Cauze, Kuf Knotz – formerly of The Hustle, as well as two supporting local talents, Asaad and DJ Bruce. In the spirit of the season, all who attend are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items.  Each individual who makes a donation will be entered into a raffle to win a gift card from a local business.  The donations will be distributed to the hungry via Philabundance, the region’s largest hunger relief organization. - FEATURING - Reef The Lost Cauze Once regarded as Philadelphia Hip Hop’s “best kept secret,” Reef the Lost Cauze is no longer the best underground MC you’ve never heard of: he’s ready to shed the title once and for all and become a household name. The battle-tested MC is having a breakthrough year in 2010: not by switching up his style or conforming to ready-made ideals of mainstream acceptability, but rather by staying true to the basic formula of raw rhymes and murderous beats.

Reef took his freestyle skills to another level early in 2004 with a rousing performance at the Beat Society production competition in New York, and a fierce win in the Riddle Records Mic Check Battle. He was also the End of the Weak Challenge Champion at the Rock Steady Crew 27th Anniversary in July 2004, and went on to take the EOW Grand Championship title in 2005.

2005 also saw Reef independently release the LP “Feast or Famine”. The album was unanimously met with solid, critical praise. Reef’s prowess and reputation eventually lead to him being handpicked by Jedi Mind Tricks frontman Vinnie Paz to become a part of his Army of the Pharaohs crew. Reef is featured on several Jedi Mind Tricks Presents: Army of the Pharaohs albums.  Reef put out yet another solo LP, “A Vicious Cycle” and was again met with critical praise. Kuf Knotz: After founding the BurnDown All-Stars and performing for several years with hip-hop ensemble The Hustle, Knotz is making his solo debut with “Boombox Logic,” slated for release Oct. 26 on Drexel University’s award-winning student-run record label MAD Dragon Records. Having previously worked with several notable acts, such as Slightly Stoopid, G-Love and Ben Arnold, Knotz has already proven that he is capable of transcending multiple genres. He has had the honor of being the first hip-hop artist ever to open for Bruce Springsteen (at an Obama rally on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway) as well as being featured in FUSE TV’s “Bodog Music Battle of the Bands” with the BurnDown All-Stars. Asaad: Asaad is a local Philadelphia artist whose talents span from rap to experimental and club.  His upcoming release, “Flowers”, is in the making and sure to please. Asaad’s status is rising in Philly, so don’t miss out! DJ Bruce: Philly native DJ BRUCE has risen through the local ranks quickly, with a resume that includes some of Philadelphia's hottest nightlife destinations.  He is one of the most sought-after DJs at the University of Pennsylvania, as well as Drexel and Temple.  He is currently a DJ for Guess? Jeans, Co. and this year he was asked to headline Philadelphia's 2010 Fashion Week. MadKo Concerts is offered exclusively to students within Drexel’s University’s Music Industry Program as they learn how to organize and promote concerts throughout the region. About Drexel University’s Music Industry Program Housed in the Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design, the Music Industry Program introduces students to the business, law and technology aspects of the industry through a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach.
