The New Flesh presents
A screening of Metropolis
A private movie club in Philadelphia screens Fritz Lang's 1927 silent film masterpiece from Germany. This will be the latest version of the film with music that has been recreated for it. English subtitles will be used to go with the intertitles (moments when a silent film has frames of commentary or dialogue for you to read.) There will be a special guest to introduce the film from Germany who has a very personal connection to its creation, who has never spoken about the film until this special evening. It's 25 cents to see the film with all proceeds going to The Rotunda. Please be on time to meet the special guest. The surprise guest will be interviewed by a local film critic for 5 minutes. The film is about two and half hours. The special guest will be signing autographs after the film for 10 dollars each, also with all proceeds going to The Rotunda. Since the guest is very private and reclusive please don't approach them or ask them any personal questions at the signing after the screening. You will not be permitted to photograph them. Do not attempt find to out where they are staying in the city. They will be flying back to Germany that evening in private accommodations.
